Marks & Spencer - Fashion Fabric Award
After initially being shortlisted for the award along with two other candidates at the TexSelect London Preview Event. Sam later went on to receive the Marks & Spencer Fashion Fabric Award and a cash prize of £1,000, during a prize-giving ceremony at Premiere Vision Designs in Paris.
TEXSELECT - Design Futures
Sam Wilde was selected as one the new textile graduates introduced to the industry through the Texselect Shows at the Triangle Gallery in London and Premiere Vision Designs in Paris. Over 220 candidates were nominated by their respective universities and put through a three week rigorous selection process before the final 24 graduate designers were chosen.
Through the scheme, Sam also received the AVACadCam Training Award and ComON Initiative Award.
SVENSKT TENN - TEN TEXTILE TALENTS
Svenskt Tenn awarded Sam a bursary and invited him to debut his Josef Frank inspired prints during Stockholm Design Week at their flagship store on Strandvägen 5.
The exhibition ran for six weeks and featured the repeating worlds Sumptuous Getaway and Quandary Quagmire, printed on a variety of hand-prepared fabrics in multifarious colourways.
Displayed alongside these works was a glass cabinet filled with Sam's research, sketches, colour swatches and material samples.
BLOOMBERG - DESIGN HACKATHON AWARD
Taking a departure from his usual creative practice, Sam worked with a team of renowned architects and designers, to create a multi-purpose sculptural installation, dubbed the Isotrope.
This self-supporting structure composed of hundreds of undulating modular elements, and was the first of it’s kind to use cutting-edge magnetic assembly technology.
The Isotrope went on to receive acclaim from top industry experts and Bloomberg awarded Sam a generous bursary for his design contribution.
